2019 Holiday Quest: 1 The Freeze Over
The young lady was frantically running from place to place, the armory, the stash, the kitchens... preparing the gear the "expedition" would need.
They were so few still in her city. Every single person with a clear, distinct function; every last one of them fully and absolutely indispensable to keep everyone else working.
So, of course, that obviously meant that the one person they could spare to lose for some hours... was her.
Shia wasn't scared. She was so much more of a field person than a politics one, really. She had been the one scouting the lands around her childhood home since she was barely able to crawl, while her sister sat wit

New Year Quest 5: A wish come true
By the time they finally got back to the city, Shia was ready to drop dead on any soft surface she could find.
It didn't even have to be soft, too. Her standard had been dropping at an hourly rate. First, she had thought that maybe a table wouldn't be that bad. Now? Now the only thing preventing her from just kind of flopping to the floor and lay there like a slowpoke was Atalanta's relentless dragging.
Any other time, the arm the huntress's had needed to put around her waist to prevent her from randomly dragging behind to rest on things would have made her blush a red darker than her own hair. Now? Now she was too groggy to even notice it.

The kid was growing restless by the minute, which didn't help Shia feel better herself.
They had finally gotten out of the labyrinth of caves and onto the naked roads on the face of the cliff, with the salty wind pulling their hair and clothes, and the spray of the waves crashing against the rocks below splashing them from time to time.
They were finally getting close to the upper border, step by careful step, Atalanta in the head, Shia carrying the increasingly squirmy kid in her arms behind, when the younger girl noticed the first lights of day painting the horizon and coloring the sea.
It had been enough to make her stop, breath taken a

The explosion was deafening.
The next thing she knew, her back was against the cold, wet soil, the huntress's body pressed against her, trying to shield her from the worse of the blast. Pine needless madly flew around them, embedding themselves in both dirt and flesh alike.
"A-Atalanta!" She tried to squirm away from the older's grasp, worried what all of that could have done to her unprotected back.
"Shh" The lioness ushed her, short and dry, and softly put a hand on the center of her chest, effectively keeping her down -breath erratic, heart pounding- as she crouched to an alert, almost predatory position. "That was close. Too much." Her

New Year Quest 2: Following a wish
It was almost a miracle that the girl looked back to the sky, so entranced she was by her secret love's dancing.
It allowed her to see the star again, and to notice, blood that had been fire since the very moment she came to the world turning to ice, how it was now not soaring the sky, but falling, plummeting from it.
She didn't even think. When she noticed it, she was already running, out of the city and into the dark forest, wishing, not for the first time, that her hair were as fiery as the woman she so dearly loved, as she jumped over roots and dodged low branches, never slowing, never looking back, following the path of a star that was

Shia smiled softly at the people around her. They were all so lively, so happy. It was, strange, that they were her people now, she just couldn't get used to the thought of it.
She hadn't been supposed to run a house. Claudia was the heir, after all, the smartest of all of them, the one who knew everything about administrating a state, about politics, about how to smile at someone while knowing they were wishing to stab you in the back.
That was why Claudia was still at home, with their parents, their uncle and aunt and cousins and all the people that had watched them grow, and she had been sent there. Claudia was vital to their house, she
